3 Ways To Help Your Children Read And Understand The Quran

Islam is one of the most interesting religions today and if you are an Islam convert, Muslim parent or a religious enthusiast wanting to educate your children about different religions, then getting your children to read the Quran will be highly educational. You can get a book of Quran from local religious bookstores and even in alquran online stores. Once you have been able to purchase the book, you must set a strategy on how to help your children understand it.

      1.      Read Short Sections From The Book

There are 114 chapters in the Quran and each chapter contains verses. Have your children read a certain number of chapters or just verses each day and have them reflect on it. However, you will need to keep the assigned reading sections short so that they can read it repeatedly and discuss it properly. Never read the Quran in a rush and it is best to read it slowly to become familiar with the texts.

      2.      Get Them To Listen To The Quran In Arabic

Based on the tradition of Islam, the Quran is impossible to translate and getting an expert translation in your own language will not be the true interpretation of the Quran. If you can not read it in Arabic, you can look for a recording of the Quran recitation so that your children will experience the sound of the original writings. Some alquran online bookstores ad centers also sell recordings for convenience.

      3.      Discuss What Has Been Read And Heard

After specific chapters or verses have been read, take the time with your children to discuss and reflect on them. You will discover that your children will have plenty of questions about what they have read and you can also ask them questions to make sure they understand it properly. Make it a habit to recite a certain verse or chapter whenever needed or when answering questions for memory retention.
